Coupling of an aircraft wing bending modeLEXIQUE and torsion mode LEXIQUEcan cause a divergence aeroelastic phenomenon : flutter.

An aircraft should obviously not encounter such a phenomenon when flying inside its flight envelope LEXIQUE. The risks of occurrence of flutter are therefore investigated by vibration testing on the ground and by computations. These tests are used to design the aerodynamic or structural modifications required to make the aircraft behave safely.
