Wind tunnel testing of flight path

"Chimera" computation

Jettisoning of a payload such as a bomb, fuel tank or missile is analysed to ensure correct separation before flight testing in order to avoid the risks of collision and allow optimal control of the payload if it is controlled.

Until now, this was done by wind tunnel testing which consisted of dropping free falling models whose movement was filmed or reproducing the paths using a motor-driven payload support whose geometry could be changed during the test.

Currently, special numerical techniques are developed to improve site path prediction (multiple meshes LEXIQUE) and chimera technique LEXIQUE).
