Aerodynamics and Energetics Modeling
Facilities
The calculations are carried out using the Toulouse center's computing resources, consisting mainly of a computer, an Ethernet network and various workstations.
For the experimental studies, the DMAE can call on around fifteen installations equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment (laser velocimetry, infrared cameras, phase Doppler particle analyzer, fast video, image display and processing methods) :
The department's experimental resources are:
- T2 transonic wind tunnel
- acoustic chambers
- Thalès hydrodynamic tunnel
- Lacom, combustion laboratory
- F2 research wind tunnel at the Fauga-Mauzac center (V=100 ms-1, 1.4 x 1.8 m section):
high quality flow, highly instrumented wind tunnel (managed by GMT)
- low speed sections (V=10 to 100 ms-1: 3 to 20 dm2 working section)
- silent wind tunnel (V=25 ms-1 ): study of acoustic-flow and acoustic two phase interactions
- two phase test benches for the characterization of injectors, studies of dispersal and collision of droplets and combustion research
- aerothermal test bench (p less than or equal to 10 bar, T not greater than 700 K, m, A not greater than 1.5 kgs-1)
- gaseous and two phase flow metering test benches
- solid and liquid fuel engine test benches
- launch pad for 1/20 scale models of launchers
