Cocomat - coupling mechanical and aerothermal codes
First results

The methodologies and know-how developed in Cocomat have already been used to advantage by our industrial partners who have conducted complex multi-disciplinary simulations (see figures 1 and 2) by interactively using, for the first time, the calculation codes which until now would have been run independantly. Thus, code coupling, now increasingly popular, clearly constitutes the most promising and quickest approach to meet the growing need for multi-disciplinary studies.

Temperature of a turbine blade where the wall and a cooling channel are taken into account, the result of a coupled calculation between the CEDRE code and the ABAQUS commercial software.

Perspective view of the fluid/solid meshing of the geometry of a simplified thruster. In green, the metal or composite structure which encloses the located block of propergol (in orange). Rear view of the capped tube. In blue, the fluid domain. The deformation of the thruster between different instants in the pressurisation on the front part has been calculated.
