Modeling and Information ProcessingSystem engineering: methods, techniques and toolsThe issuesThe systems we are interested in are assemblies of hardware, software, technical systems and people, organized in accordance with procedures and methods, all so that a set of functions, services or missions may be performed. The development and assembly methods for these systems aim to guarantee the services provided and to control the quality, manage the costs and deadlines for development, deployment and ownership. Given their size, complexity, even their absence of materiality, in order to understand the properties of such systems, whether this be in design or verification, we almost always have to develop models dedicated to one or several properties. This modeling, which is at the heart of this area of scientific activity, has given birth to new approaches, making use of a vast panoply of formalisms depending on whether one is interested in modeling functional or non-functional properties, modeling "the enterprise", the organization of the operators, the modeling of decision-making procedures, man-system interaction, the optimization of the processes in naturally distributed systems, interoperability within a system of systems, etc. Thematic orientations |
