EmmanuelRosencher, ONERA's Scientific Director, passed away on the 15th of June 2013... I wanted, on this day of remembrance, to gather those who knew him and especially his family, whom I want to remind about how grateful Onera is for everything that EmmanuelRosencher contributed to it... EmmanuelRosencher, on the occasion of his jubilee at the École Polytechnique, on the 24 th of May 2011
Physicist born in 1952 and died on 15 June 2013, EmmanuelRosencher had been ONERA's Scientific Director since October 2010 and a professor at the École Polytechnique... As such, EmmanuelRosencher prepared the Scientific Strategic Plan... EmmanuelRosencher was known for his pioneering work in opto-electronics, discipline he had contributed to spread within the community of students and researchers
A powerful symbol of these golden years, a physicist, engineer and professor with communicative enthusiasm, it was quite natural that we dedicate this meeting to honor EmmanuelRosencher... Opto-electronics is thus a complete technical and scientific structure in itself, to which EmmanuelRosencher made his contribution with the study of the electrical and optical properties of semiconducting heterostructures (silicon / silica, gallium arsenide / aluminum and gallium arsenide, etc.). A gifted researcher and theorist, he contributed in particular to our progress in the understanding of the fundamental physical phenomena that take place in these" traditional" components in order to extend their potentialities

EmmanuelRosencher, Onera General Scientific Director and professor at the École Polytechnique, received the France Telecom 2010 Grand Prix from the Academy of Sciences on 25th January 2011. He has been recognized for all of his work on quantum opto-electronic components, leading to new infrared detector and wavelength tunable laser (optical parametric oscillators) systems
He succeeds EmmanuelRosencher, who died in May 2013, and Pierre Touboul, who served as interim until his arrival. Stéphane Andrieux graduated from the National School of Civil Engineering (École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées), has a PhD in Engineering and is authorised to supervise research
"Until now the lasers we have been using, powerful enough for these measurements, emitted impulses every 10 milliseconds, explains EmmanuelRosencher, scientific director of the Physics branch at Onera... "An Onera team at Toulouse has demonstrated the feasibility of seeing through a very opaque milieu composed of water and very dense balls", reports EmmanuelRosencher
"The Emir technique is unique in the world, and the principle is very clever, "says EmmanuelRosencher, Scientific Director of the Physics Branch at Onera. "For the first time, we can really visualize the electromagnetic field, which usually seems so mysterious
