News ReleasesFebruary 2007Jean-Marie Le Gouez, director for CFD and aeroacoustics
Jean-Marie Le Gouez is an expert in intensive numerical simulation in fluid mechanics and associated phenomena – thermics, structural vibration, aero-acoustics – and has experience in industrialization and adaptation to customer needs, which he implements in his own company founded in 2001. This Polytechnic alumnus, with a degree in Applied Mathematics from Stanford, began his career at the CEA in Cadarache in 1978, to work on the simulation of flows and security studies on nuclear reactors. Then he was hired as head of the Fluid Mechanics department at the Principia company in 1990. Arriving at Onera in early 2007, Jean-Marie Le Gouez wants to combine his professional expertise and his knowledge of the "market" with the human and scientific potential of the teams in the DSNA department, which he feels is unique in Europe. He feels it is a very favorable environment for preparing the programs of tomorrow in flow simulation and associated phenomena. His first objective is to increase international recognition. Let us recall that the mission of the DSNA teams is to develop numerical simulation methods and programs in aerodynamics and energetics, to master all of the aeroacoustic activities to meet the requirements for predicting and optimizing aircraft performance. Two leading programs are elsA for aerodynamics and Cedre for aero-thermics. |
