Maritime surveillance - Aeromaritime evaluation of the Ressac UAV

Campaign to assess the behavior of the Ressac helicopter UAV demonstrator over the sea, for the monitoring of surface ships.

As part of the preparation of demonstrations of aeromaritime scenarios for the Action project, an Onera team went to Argelès-sur-Mer (South of France) for a campaign to assess the behavior of the Ressac UAV over the sea.

A ship maneuvering on the surface was monitored using laser and camera data. The target monitoring algorithm, which had already been validated for monitoring a ground vehicle, worked successfully for the monitoring of a surface ship at speeds of up to 7 knots.
