Aero-Thermo-Acoustic Bench (B2A): Liners Absorption Performance Measurements

Testing

  • Measurement of normal acoustic impedance and absorbed power of flat porous materials (liners) with grazing flow by a non intrusive measurement technique (Laser Doppler Velocimetry).
  • Database to validate aero-acoustic models: mean and acoustic velocities, pressure, intensity and impedance fields in high speed flow.
  • Facilities: Wind tunnel with anechoic outlet, LDV (2D).
  • Samples:
    • Honeycomb, rigid foam, fibre material etc. (local or non-local reaction behaviour).
    • Test size 30 x 150 mm², maximum thickness 100 mm.
  • Flow conditions: M < 0.6, 300°C.
  • Acoustic excitation by loudspeakers: > 140 dB (315 - 5000 Hz).
