Life Detection, Monitoring and Localisation
Applications
Finding a burried person.
[Validation test]
> Protection civile
- Avalanche or earthquake victim detection.
- Mine clearance.
> Médical
- Remote respiration frequency monitoring.
> Défense
- Human presence detection by complete 3D building scan.
> Génie civil
- Detection/localization of hidden objects e.g. buried in the ground (pipes) and/or hidden by a wall.
Keywords
- Signal treatment, Image treatment, Respiration measurement, Human presence detection, Doppler radars.
Advantages
- Use of unique methods and radars to detect and localize life, with eventual respiration frequency (Patent).
- Ability to localize moving or stationary electrical conductors.
Testing
- Heartbeat detection and frequency:
- Detection of a beating heart, however fast or slow.
- 10m diameter spherical area covered around antenna.
- The respiration frequency is found based on the utilisation of the Doppler effect.
- Very sensitive radar used: HF Pulsing, coherent, multistatic, bifrequencial radar.
- Localization:
- Localization possible for any electrical conductors, moving or stationary.
- Ability to see through various materials (walls, ice, water, tree trunks etc.) by adapting radar frequencies.
- Localization of the source is based on spectral interferometry techniques in two domains; spatial and spectral.

Total power received by the antennas varying with time.
Shows the associated movements carried out by the victim.
