Applications
Composite frame for
amplified elliptic actuator
(Cedrat Technologies)
Laminar actuator developed by LMP
>Aeronautics & Space
- Morphing of aerodynamic profiles.
- Dampers.
- Active control of the aerodynamic boundary layer.
- Noise reduction by active helicopter rotor blades.
- Smart wings for UAVs.
> Optics
- Adaptive optics and interferometers (Very Large Telescope, Chile ).
> Defence
& Security
- Safety mechanisms and sensors.
> Energy
Keywords
- Amplified actuators, PZT stacks, PZT ribbons, active composites / materials,
light or thin actuators.
Advantages
- Combination of piezoelectric (electrical field action) and composite
material (mechanical couplings and lightness) properties.
- Large stroke and high forces – compact, light and powerful actuators
with a high bandwidth.
- Laminar actuators - easily integrated in conventional composite layers.
- Possibility to conceive 3D small actuators and sensors with complex
geometries from flat initial PZT layers before forming and sintering
operations.
Testing
- Electro mechanical static and dynamic tests with or without external
loads modelling with Atila Finite Element code available by ISEN.
Expertise
- Over 5 years of experience in collaboration with Cedrat Technologies
at Meylan ( Grenoble ), LMP at Maubeuge and ISEN in Lille:
- Technology at present mastered to produce a lot of types of actuators
and even sensors.
- The development of oriented crystals products with larger capabilities
is in progress
- Intelligent textile incorporating such material are foreseen
for energy individual human production and storage.
Customers
- Cedrat technologies, Artois composites,
Eurocopter, Cnes…
