Palaiseau Center

vue du centre

Onera is settled in Palaiseau since 1947, on 19 acres, with a center of 470 people, including 85% of researchers.

Scientists first conducted works on energetics before enlarging their researches on new materials, radars, optics and physical measurement.

Therein, they follow the needs of the aerospace sector on a site propitious to the implementation of high-performance experimental equipments, linked with the physicians community based in the Plateau de Saclay. On the Palaiseau site, 8 departments, as well as an anechoic wind-tunnel, represent the scientific diversity of the research activities at Onera and in particular keep on with two main axes of research: the aircraft propulsion and detection-reconnaissance-identification.

During the summer of 2010, a new building was completed. Since October 2010, it hosts more than a hundred researchers. In 2011, this building of 9400m² will also host the executive management, which will bring the staff number on the site to more than 600 people. Therefore, in moving its scientific and administrative activities on the Paris-Saclay campus, Onera comes within the scope of the government policy which aims to make of this Campus one of the first site in the world dedicated to research and innovation.
