Drones - Infra-Red Cameras for Anti-CollisionWho are we ?Contact us... Drones - Infra-Red Cameras for Anti-Collision. A campaign conducted with gliders to collect infrared signatures and background measurements, in order to draw up optronics specifications for anti-collision sensors.. As part of the Onera research project to demonstrate the feasibility and acceptability of an innovative and safe concept for the insertion of drones in air traffic, a measurement campaign has been conducted at the aerodromes at Romarin (Saint Rémy de Provence) and Caume (Parc Naturel Régional des Alpilles), using Onera band II and III infra-red cameras..

3.Maxwell would have loved it - Zoom in the Lab
The experiment corresponding to the preceding image in which we placed films (one conducting, the other one magnetic) the heating of which is recorded by an infra-red camera, for a TEM [ Transverse electromagnetic ] wave.... This film heats up slightly, and we film the heating up with an infra-red camera (capable of seeing temperature differences)....

4.ONERA - A partner speaks out : Shaktiware : Riad Haidar and Jean-Luc Pelouard - An integrated team for ananotechnology research
Detail of the Vitrail project infra-red camera filter mosaic... This with, as Riad has said, an intangible principle : to trace out the entire development chain, from the beginning of the study, in order to envisage that the same high-tech object will be used to demonstrate physical effects before being integrated into a complex system (for example an infra-red camera), in order to show its applicative potential....

5.News Releases - Onera
The result of about fifteen years of studies and research within ONERA's Solid Mechanics and Damage Mechanisms Department (DMSE), the EMIR (Electromagnetic Infra-red) method makes it possible to visualize in 2D the amplitude of an electric field in a broad frequency band (from 500 MHz to more than 20GHz). The sensor used in the technique is made of an extremely thin film (25 microns), which surface is covered with a slightly absorbent deposited layer, and the receiver, made of an infra-red camera....

6.ONERA - Aerodynamics and Energetics Modeling (DMAE) - Facilities
For the experimental studies, the DMAE can call on around fifteen installations equipped with advanced diagnostic equipment (laser velocimetry, infrared cameras, phase Doppler particle analyzer, fast video, image display and processing methods) :...

8.NGC 1068 galaxy observed with the NAOS adaptive optics system - ONERA's Science Pictures
These images were obtained through the VLT - Chile (ESO), equipped with the NAOS adaptive optics system and the CONICA infrared camera ()...

9.Hypersonic Shock Wave in Martian Atmosphere - ONERA's Science Pictures
In this experiment, the thermal fluxes at Mach 10 were measured in the windtunnel with an infrared camera....

10.Observation (OBSE2)
In our case, image sequences from the VIGILE II data campaign, many different sensors (infrared and panchromatic cameras) are looking at the environment (a parking area).... The available sensors are : panchromatic CCD cameras, wide or restricted fields of view, color CCD cameras, wide or restricted fields of view, infrared cameras, 3-5 and 8-12 micrometers, wide or restricted fields of view, panoramic radar, 94 GHz wavelength....
