 To understand the complex process of the entrainment and the mixing of a turbulent jet in the wake, represented by a Lamb-Oseen vortex, a temporal large eddy simulation of the interaction between a turbulent jet and a wake vortex was carried out by solving the compressible Navier-Stokes equations at Mach number 0.2 and a Reynolds number of 5000. The axes of the jet and the vortex are sufficiently well separated not to interact immediately, the vortex velocity causes the jet to be pulled around the vortex, the core of which is not altered....
