Thanks to the atmospheric turbulence correction system NAOS, developed under ONERA management, the discoveries of the VLT have been exceptional: planetary details of our solar system, the first images of an exoplanet, the revelation of a super massive black hole in our galaxy, etc.
Le Very Large Telescope
10 years of adaptive optics with NThe European Southern Observatory's Very Large Telescope is made up of four telescopes, set up on the top of the Paranal mountain in northern Chile. Attached to the focus of one of the telescopes, NAOS contributes to correct for the blurring effects of Earth's atmosphere. ACO (NAOS-CONICA)
