Europe has decided. The next European launch vehicle will be Ariane 6 - low-cost and operational by 2020. ONERA is ready for the R&T work to be performed on the future launcher, continuing its support for Ariane.
The delivery by ONERA of the French part of SYSIPHE- onboard spectral imaging system - to the DGA marks the start of a new phase with the launch of an evaluation in operational conditions. The results of this will ultimately help to define the reconnaissance systems of the future.

A very unusual test was conducted at the ONERA Modane Centre from the 7th to the 11th of July: a scientific experiment on the scale of the large wind tunnel, under conditions that have never been met before. ONERA and Leosphere are associated in the development of a new scanning Lidar with a range of over 10 km. The system was deployed during a field campaign lasting one month at the Toulouse airport, in order to qualify the contribution of the lidar to the knowledge of air-mass dynamics.
