Elise Colin

Dr. Elise Colin received jointly the Dipl. Ing. in electrical engineering from Supelec and the M.Sc. degree in theoretical physics, from the University of Orsay (Paris XI), Paris, France, in 2002. In 2005, she received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Paris VI, Paris, France, and joined the Electromagnetic and Radar Division of ONERA, Palaiseau, France, in which she has been working on the comparison between radar polarimetry and optical polarimetry. In 2013, she joined the Information Processing Department and obtained the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (Professoral Thesis) from the University Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, in 2014. She leads several research projects in remote sensing, especially on AI, big data, coherent images, and time series.

Since 2019, Elise has been the co-founder of the start-up ITAE Medical Research, which aims at the commercialization of a device based on the principle of depolarized dynamic speckle, for imaging the microvascularization of blood: www.itae.fr

In 2022, she was a Ted-X Speaker in Paris Saclay:  TedX Les cohérences de la lumière

She conducts teaching activities, in particular at École Centrale Supélec, where she leads a course on Earth observation, and supervises several student project groups.

Since 2024, she has been involved in a Chair position at Onera in Research on AI and non-conventional remote sensing images, the MUSIC Chair for MultiScale Image
